I'm replacing the brake booster on my 1993 Corvette I remove the panels underneath the steering column and see this (picture of spare ignition cylinder with key inside of it) I remove the spare key and go to grab my set of keys surprisingly they don't match up does anyone know what is going on?
Some extra info:
I am the third owner, last owner was a 16 that didn't know much about the car and didn't own it for much before I bought it off of him
I think this is one of the techniques people use to bypass part of the vats system. But don’t recall why, I I recommend googling vats bypass and seeing if that gets you the information you need.
After Googling Corvette Vats bypass with extra key I came across this image
I also found this illustration of how this Bypass works incase anyone is curious to know
Mystery solved, now I'm going to put the key back where I found it
