‘94 Starting issue?
My C4 has a really strange issue. Sometimes when I start it up, it’ll run really rough, almost sounding like it’s got a cam. The first two times I drove off, the car sputtered out and died and wouldn’t start for a few hours. I replaced the fuel pump and I thought that fixed it. It’s happened again twice, but instead of driving off, I turned the car off, waited a moment and started it back up. When I do that it seems to work fine. Where should I start at for diagnosing this issue?

Might be worth looking into your optispark. Although I haven't experienced a failing optispark myself, it's my understanding that the car runs poorly as they start to fail. Since your car is before the vented style, maybe see if you can find any evidence of a water pump leak. If you can, then there's a pretty good chance your opti needs replacing (and water pump too at that). If you can't, you should at the very least you should look deeper into symptoms of optispark failure and decide whether your car is exhibiting enough of them.
And for the record, if you do decide it's the optispark, make sure you comb through your replacement/refurbishment options very carefully before buying. You should almost never get a cheap chinese made optispark.
