i did the vats by pass with the resistor and it work for 2 day then came back the same way . i played with battery disconnecting and connecting it work again , so now its doing it again cranks , starts, runs for 5 sec... and shut off when battery was connected the security light flashed normally till it cranked and ran but now same as before starts and shuts down !!!!!! so tired of this system p.s. i bought by pass kit from ( ZIP CORVETTE ) #12-6.040 same as the key
You don't mention what year the car is, cause back in the day, they had TSB if this occurs replace the ignition switch, I had my 89 done and never had problem again.
I also in the beginning by-pass my VATS, that stopped working and leaving me stranded.
After the ignition switch replacement kept the car 15 more years with never start problem again.
5 second run and shutoff is how the oil pressure switch functions on some models. It's right behind the distributor... you can jumper to test, just make sure you actually do have oil pressure.
