Hey there, first time posting in forum. I’m having some intermittent braking problem’s on my 90, occasionally my brake pedal will go right to the floor but I’ll immediately get braking pressure back after lifting off the pedal and reapplying pressure to it. My brake pedal also seems to be all over the place on where it wants to actually start braking. To my knowledge my master cylinder and booster are good but yet again I’m still pretty new to this scene and would appreciate some tips and help on where to go from here.
Thank you!
What have you done to test the master cylinder and booster? Why do you believe they are good?
I have followed a few YouTube videos that showed me how to run some at home tests i.e testing to see what the pedal does when I turn the car on/off and checking the check valve to the booster. Apologies if I’m totally wrong about anything here, I’m just kind of learning as I go any suggestions are welcome and appreciated
If your brake pedal is going to the floor, the master cylinder is failing (it's "bypassing" the O-rings, i.e. leaking past them). You need to either have your master cylinder rebuilt or get a new one. If it's the original, I'd recommend a rebuild from a competent brake shop nearby. The replacement ones are sometimes cheaply made and you'd be best off keeping your original PBR-supplied master cylinder. You can also get a new replacement OEM-type from Zip or Davies Corvette.
Unless you have a leak somewhere else in the braking system, like a loose bleeder on a caliper or something else leaking fluid (which you'd see), it sounds like the problem I describe above.

I appreciate the help, I will look into that. Is there any tests that I can run to know for sure if my master cylinder is on its way out?
