I came across something I believe is missing on my C4. See picture for location (it's a part of the lower dash next to steering column)

. I am assuming it is a key bump/protection of some sort to prevent any damage to the lower dash from keys/keyrings. Would anybody know a part number, or a accurate description to do a search online. I've gotten various responses about nothing is supposed to be there, but, something had to have been there, it doesn't look right. Thanks in advance.

Looks like someone mounted something there.

There is not anything that goes there. There was obviously some thing mounted there by a previous owner possibly

There is a small plastic piece that goes there , it's curved to fit that spot with an interior screw holding it in.

Yep... I think the curved piece is held in there with sort of melted plastic prongs that act as rivets, and that's where the other holes are from.

I believe the correct GM terminology for the part was 'Key Protector'. GM part# likely 14083511
