Has anyone used fuel additives in their engines either as a one time thing or on a regular basis? For example Red Line, Sea Foam, Techron, etc. I never really thought about using them but was wondering if it would be a good idea for preventative maintenance. Opinions?
Sounds like a good idea. I just ordered some from Amazon as well.
Thanks everyone!
You know, I order from Amazon as well. I just wish the cost difference between local retailers and Amazon was less than it is. I could live with 10% more to buy local but sometimes it is literally twice, or more, as much. Dan
nope. The gas goes in and that's it. nothing else to buy, store, schedule a todo, think about.
Shell V-Power Nitro+, Chevron with Techron, and ExxonMobil Synergy are Top Tier fuels that use higher levels of cleaning additives and has been good for me. And it was GM that initiated the Top Tier Detergent Gasoline program back in 2004 when gas was lower quality and engines became more demanding and more sensitive to fuel quality, GM engines back then were badly affected with carbon buildup.
Just stomp on it every now and then
If not able to get a good fuel in your neighborhood, fuel additives, especially for storage ( stabyl) are always a good idea. Cleaners and Detergents cant hurt.
