I can't recall if all C4's come with the storage under the armrests but seem to remember it's only when they removed the glovebox (for airbags).
Either way, I have a 1995 with the storage under the armrests. The passenger side opens and closes fine. The drivers side closes fine but only opens about 1/3 of the way.
I decided to take the door panel off (had to tighten the driver side mirror anyways) and it doesn't even look like it would ever fit properly. The hinge seems way too small to allow it to work.
Anyone happen to have a picture or video or any type of instructions on how these are supposed to fit? I have a suspicion someone must've switched the hinge out at some point and got the wrong one.
I can also try removing my passenger side door, but when I did the drivers side a few parts fell off the hinge (some thin metal pieces), so I'm worried I might break something that's working fine now and lose the ability to reproduce.
I've searched for door panel replacement, etc, but haven't found where anyone has covered the doors with pockets. I can make a video later if anyone thinks they can help.
Basically wanting a sanity check on whether it really is an improper hinge or just put on wrong.
Not all C4's had those storage pockets.
Only the 1994 - 1996 style.
Not sure what might be wrong with yours, but when I had my '96 both drivers and passenger side would open all the way.
I never had anything apart though, so don't really know how it all goes together.
But if you drivers side pocket door isn't opening fully, then something isn't right.
