For the past three years, when I turn the head lights on my C4, and they flip up, my driver side does two things:
1) When it opens it does not open completely, and the light shines on the roadway directly in front of the car. With the hood open, and the headlights in the On position, I can manually move the headlight into the completely open position. The passenger side opens and locks into the open position. The driver side opens but had about a 1 inch space, preventing the assembly from locking into the open position.
Question: Does anyone know what I need to do to get the driver side head light to fully open, and go into the locked open position?
2) The driver side head light has tabs that mount the headlight bulb into the headlight housing. One of the tabs is broken away from the bracket that mounts the head light ring to the housing/assembly.
Question: Does anyone have a ring for the headlight? Or, does anyone know how to fasten mounting tab to the head light ring?
See what others say. My 91 has a way to open them manually. Could someone have messed with that causing it to be short by the inch you say it is
It has been like this since I owned the car. I have been looking at it to see if there is an adjustment that will allow me to tighten it up. I plant to take the headlight fixture off of the car and see if I can make some adjustment of modification to get the light to open fully, close fully, and operate as expected.
