Originality-question trivia

I'm wondering if, when C4s were shipped to the dealers, if they were shipped with the front license plate cover installed, or if they were shipped with the car but not installed. Were these license plate covers part of the kit that the new owners received? What else was part of that kit? I know that there was a tool for taking off the top and also cassette, as well as of course all the manuals. Just curious--love geeking out the details of these cars!

My 2 owner 89's was still in the plastic in one of the rear cargo compartments. Can't speak about other years.

Shipped I'd think w/car to be installed by dealer. A 2 plate state like Virginia I imagine many went to the guy that did the prep. I've never seen a C4 with VK3 on the SPID label and that would've indicated that a 2 plate state got what was required for the front plate install which might 'hint' shipped with no cover.

Anyone have a SPID with VK3?
