Passenger side is nice but faded, the drivers side is trashed. Dropped off a piece of the drivers side at the upholstery shop, they’re going to try and find a close match. Seat covers will do for now, but would be cool to have the cloth shown again.
Beautiful interior. This is kind of the look I'm going for. My 84 has a bright red interior... I'm trying to decide if I want to restore it back to stock with the crazy red, or if I should go with something more along these lines. I do really prefer this saddle / camel interior color.
Do you not like the leather seats? Or you just want to revert it back to stock?
I can see why you would want to go back to the original cloth seats, they are very cool.
Who made your leather seats, by the way (are they just covers)? There is a pretty well known seat upholstery guy that lives near us (I'm in Tampa) named Mr.Mikes.

They’re just vinyl covers I got on Amazon, they’re pretty nice and were under $200 for the pair. Thanks for the upholstery recommendation, always good to know other shops are out there. I know the cloth seats are pretty rare, so I want to bring it back to stock, the car is also an all original Z51, so it’s a sorta rare C4.
IMHO the cloth is worth trying to replace in kind. I have cloth in our '92 and it's the most comfortable road trip vehicle I've ever had (until it comes time to climb out! ) Dreading th day I'll have to have mine replaced but it's not too far down the list.

The cloth looks so comfortable. If I ever found a set of saddle or bronze cloth seats out on the market, I would barely think twice before sending an offer to buy them. In fact, when I was first C4 hunting, I sent out an offer for a blue 84 with cloth seats. They look so much more comfortable than 80s leather. More stylish too.
I had charcoal cloth in my first 'vette - an '89, 6spd with FX-3. I never got the hype of leather seats - they're hot in the summer and cold in the winter. But that one just happened to have it so I considered it a bonus. Anyone who ever took an interest in the car (even dealers) said they'd never seen one with cloth. The guy I bought it from said it was the tightest, best handling vette out of the 4 C4's he'd owned. I'd have to agree with him. Z-51 transforms that car, especially with FX-3. The other '89 was tan interior and both were Maroon. Apparently, that color grabbed me from day one. I've now had 6 Maroon ones out of 7, (I experimented with Blue when I was in college!)
Back then, probably close to 20 years ago, it was challenging to find some of that cloth. I think one of the larger auto upholstery shops online scrounged some up for me. I think the Trans Ams had it as well, so maybe there is still some around. Good luck and enjoy!
