i also have built headlight blankout panels i can drop in for races to take about another 20 lbs off the front end
broke my heart to have to add weight by adding:
-32 mm z07 sway bar / i may go back to stock one.
-roll cage (steel, not chromealoy)
-canton road race oil pan (heavier than the stock one)
-steel halfshafts and safety loops vs stock alum ones
Neutral weight change by:
-supercharger head unit in place of air conditioning system
- spare tire replaced with atl well cell methanol tank
-relocated battery
I weigh 155 lbs - not much i can do there
What's the point of your heavier sway bar and oil pan for only quarter mile straight line usage?
For the time? I'd lean towards yes. Considering many vehicles produced in the 80s were under 3000 lbs, and the Corvette was over 3000 lbs. But the car had a lot of stuff (tech, performance, etc), so kind of makes sense.
By today's standards, Corvette is a feather weight.
