Default My VATS Solution!

Nothing exciting but today at lunch i finally broke down and bought a new key at the dealership for $32.00. I have not even had the VATS act up in 2-3 months but know its just a matter of time. Anyway the yahoo behind the counter said the keys never go bad and i need a new ignition switch. I roll my eyes and just tell him to make my key. I got the key and compared it to the other one. WHAT A DIFFERENCE. The pellet on the old key was so worn down i was amazed. No wonder i had issues. This new key's pellet is like night and day. Anyway car fired right up and i don't anticipate any further issues. After seeing how worn my pellet was compared to a new one i am convinced 80% of us with issues can fix them quick and easy with a new key. Just some advice

 Good to know.

Did you show the yahoo behind the counter that they do actually wear down, and he is ripping most people off?

No i didn't bother. I know there are some honest people out there but in my opinion going to a dealer for service (unless it is under warranty) is for idiots. They are in general scumbags and try and take you for every nickel they can. Buying from a dealer is not much better. I spent over 4 hours negotiating when i bought my current vette and got up and left twice. I was paying cash and they still made it a headache. The only reason i went there is because i needed the key and you can't have one made at home depot. Used car salesman (again i am making a generalization) are bottom feeders. In fact i shouldnt say the salesman themselves are as they are just trying to make a buck. The dealers and service depts are what i am talking about. I have bought 9 cars through them and only once was i satisfied when i bought a 94 eclipse back in 96 and they did over 2000 dollars of work out of warranty under goodwill. OK enought ranting. Word to the wise fix it yourself or find a mom and pop shop you can build a relationship with. 999 times out of 1000 the dealer will F you in the @ss any which way they can.
