Today was honestly the first really nice day for the car in about a month and a helf. It was not in the single digits. It poured rain for 2 days and the roads were spotlessly clean and there was not a cloud in the sky. I usually go across the street to the gym and play basketball and lift weights at my lunch break but today i took the car out instead. Drove for about 90 minutes logging about 85 miles and honestly could feel myself relaxing and some happy endorphins kick in. I think you have to live in the northern states to appreciate this. I was in heaven. I had detailed the car the other day and it looks brand new. I pulled into the dealership to get a new key made and by the time i got to the door three salesman had commented on my vette saying theyd love to take it on trade and why not strap a 03 Z06 on for size. I said no thanks i know what i have and i just need a key. Got the key for 32 bucks and was on my way. Sunny days plus a clean vette in mint shape = a slice of heaven on earth. Now if it would just wam up enough to put the top down:) Anyway its these days that are the reaosn i keep it on the road all winter. I will not drive it unless the roads are clear and the sky is blue but even then i drive it 12 months out of the year. To take it off the road makes no sense to me. There are plenty of feel good days like this one. Anyway just thought i'd share. If you are in the CT, RI area get your vette out and put some miles on it. Quit saving it for a day that may never come. Each day is a gift learn to accept them :)
Sounds like you had a nice time, and I know how you feel. :yesnod: Once I get in my car and shut the door, that's it. At that moment I am on my time with my car, and that is all that matters. Total therapy. :auto:
Damn...I feel sorry for you.....temps here in Southern California....in the '70's....with sunshine......Glad I don't live back there.....just have to get use to driving in bumper to bumper traffic....etc...etc...etc....

:yesnod: I know the feeling too. I try to explain it to my friends, and they just don't seem to get it. My wife has said that she can totally tell a difference in my mood when I have driven my Vette...
I had mine out today too. You know whats even better than taking out a clean vette after hibernating..........Getting a hair cut, then taking out a clean vette after hibernating.
I totally agree with Robertpel9. This year in S.E. Pa. they have laid down salt on top of salt. The rains last week cleaned up the roads and my vette has been out all week. I left the house earlier each day just to take the long, long way to work. As I type this it's snowing again with 6-8 inches on the way. My vette is a driver but this just sucs! Six more weeks until spring. Somebody has to shoot that groundhog. Dan :steering:
I thought I might get mine back this weekend. So much for that hope. 8 inches of snow this morming and salt everywhere. Put the truck in 4wd and go to work. Dayum. :mad
I usually go against "HIBERNATION" but my track record for breakage last fall was a bit higher than usual. Everything is right now(or as good as it'll be for now) so my car is sitting. Aside from having a sandbox for every street...I can't wait to cruise a nice warm day on clean streets.
It does make you appreciate the car more after not driving it for a long period. Especially after driving a 150HP mini-van ;)
Oh Yes....driving the Vette is great therapy! My mood is definately improved after a ride in the rocket......weather here in mid N.C. has been especially wet and white this winter - so the days to drive it have been lessened somewhat. Heck, I'd planned to drive it work one recent Friday - and low and behold it was too wet/icy that morning, so I drove the truck instead...my whole day was absolutely aweful! And....the days at work that are normally aweful seem to not bother me so much when I know my Vette is sitting in the parking lot waiting to take me the quickly away from that God awful place!
