HELP I AM A C1-C2 OWNER LOOKING AT A CORVETTE CHALLENGE CAR.MY QUESTION IS THERE ANY WAY TO DETERMINE IF THE CAR IS A REAL CHALLENGE CAR OR A SHEEP IN WOLFS CLOTHING
I AM THINKING THAT THIS CAR IS NOT WHAT IT IS SUPPOSED TO BE.HE SAYS THAT THE CAR WAS NEVER RACED AND THAT IS WHY IT IS NOT STICKERED ,CLAIMS TO HAVE 2 ENGINES,THE CAR DOES HAVE DYMAGS ON IT.THIS CAR IS A 1990 IF THAT MATTERS
the 88/89 challenge cars were not ALL converted to "war paint" and I have seen one not wearing the "Challenge Dymags".
90 is a whole different story as the 88/89 cars got a motor built for the series, the 90 cars were "World Challenge cars" and did not include this item.
for sale now... here is a quote from the ad... "Chevrolet built fifty-six identical Corvettes for the first year of the Corvette Challenge in 1988. Fifty of them were race prepared by Protofab in Wixom, Michigan to specifications established by Corvette Challenge series organizer Powell Motorsports. Six Corvette Challenge cars remained in their factory delivered trim, and it is believed these six Corvettes were used by Powell as development cars."
