Patching leather seat
Posted this in car care but thought I'd ask here too. Just picked up a 93 with black int. Has a couple small rips/ tears in drivers side seat. Can they be patched? And will the patches hold and be obvious?

You have to pull the seat and then the seat cover and take the seat cover to the upholstery shop. They will hold (add back up layers) and you can see if the match meets your desires. Or just pull the seat and take the whole thing to the upholstery shop.

Yes it can be patched, but takes some pratice.......I had good results on my 91 ZR-1 that had the usual bolster wear.. Turned out good. This is the kit i used.
As said above, if you don't want to mess with it, take the seat to a leather / upholstery shop....... Depending on the work needed to be done, it could run you 300-500 bucks..

If you have the seats patched and there is any color difference in the patches check out https://clydesleathercompany.com/. I patched a small tear myself, not perfect but good enough. Then a few weeks ago I used Clyde's kit with leather dye kit on my seats and steering wheel (awesome results) and my patch disappeared.
