i got a new battery may 2024, and now my c4 won’t start without a jumper. the car drives fine with everything working just fine however sometimes my security light flashes whenever i try to turn over? i noticed it this morning. my voltage reads 16 volts consistently. i’m thinking of my battery is going bad but i just can’t believe it cause it’s brand new.

Bolded text may be a VATS issue. Have you tried cleaning the pellet on your ignition key?
The gauge in the OP's pic in another thread is in the position for normal charging voltage. About 14.0. "16 Volts" is the far top of the scale. In the pic, the needle isn't even close to "16". Another indication of in-range voltage is that the CHECK GAUGES light is not on. If the system is over-voltage, it would be.
Question for the OP: When it won't crank, Does the SECURITY light flash in groups of 3 along with a SYS message in the speedo?
The OP said it was 16, I would think he got that from somewhere. I was talking about the digital readout you can bring up, that will have a precise number.

It looks he got the "16" from the analog gauge, as that is what he put a picture up of.

I know what you meant. I'm not sure the OP knows about the "GAUGES" button. Plus his LCD looks like it has bad polarizing film. He may not be able to read the gauges readout, or the gauges legend in the odometer area..
