Own an 1989, L98 engine. Manual
i have been dealing with engine loping for the last few months - Car runs and drives great, Yet only with the check engine light on lol. RPMs on start up are lower than where they should be, but only until i begin driving it and cars in gear. But i have begun to see that my oil pressure will begin to plummet anywhere from 50-40 psi to about 25-27 and Hold there for a few minutes until suddenly RPMs level back out, and then returns to 40-50 where it usually is while the car runs properly.
curious if anyones dealt with something similar.
Changed lower intake and valve cover gaskets earlier this summer to track down an oil leak and so far it seemed to have fixed the issue. Full replacement of radiator water pump connecting hoses and temp sensors. Had some issues with EGR but went and changed that sensor aswell and it had improvement. New PCV’s, New fuel filter, fuel pump. New injectors, spark plugs and connecting cables, Alternator ect. Im considering taking a crack at the oil pump and sending units but, was looking for a second opinion.
