Default unplugged connector

I have found a connector but can not find where it should plug too. It is down by the washer fluid reservoir tank. I can not find the connector in the service manual. Any help would be great.

Sorry I forgot to mention it is a 1990 Base. I thought maybe it could be for the FX3 suspension but that is the only connector like that on the car and I thought there would be one for each shock. The connector is also not long enough to reach to the shock. Per the vin this car did come with the FX3 and I have the selector on the center console, however the owner I bought it from said it was not active due to a shock change.

It wouldn't need to reach the shock. You have the FSM you say, so confirmation should be very easy.

I've checked the FSM. I have volume one and volume two for the 1990 Corvette and I have noticed some difference in my car and the manual. One being that according to the FSM there is no oil cooler on my car, but mine has one. I've checked every schematic in both volumes and can not find that connector anywhere.

Well I don't believe you checked very closely. 202-24 for the connector and confirm wire colors using 8A-43-0. You say your car is 'special' regarding an oil cooler? Explain?

I am not saying it is special. What I am saying is according to the FSM I have for 1990 the L98 did not have an oil cooler but my car has one.

I don't have section 8A in either FSM. It goes from 7C-13 which is torque specs for the clutch and other components to 8B-1 which is lighting. and horns.

Does the console door SPID display KC4? In what you show as Volume 2 you should certainly have an 8A Section which is all of the wiring diagrams and various sections. 8A-201 is a very good image review for various component locations on the car, the 8A-202 section follows that which has the connector mentioned at 202-24.

That connector is for the FX3. The front actuators have a pigtail long enough to reach the connector. The connector in the pic does not go all the way to the shock. There are (2) illustrations of this in section 3C and 3D of my 1990 Book 1.

This is the oil cooler. Its not the one on my car obviously but it is the same part. I had to replace the gasket about a month ago. The part number is 14084369.

Your cooler is very well illustrated in Volume 1 6B-23 Fig 31 under L98 Engine. You need to get acquainted with your FSM!

I wonder if the OP has a 1990 Z51 and is confusing the KC4 Oil Cooler with the B4P Boost Fan which were both included in 85-89 Z51? In 1990, the B4P boost fan was no longer included or even available. Just a thought.

Welp, bearing the OP in mind, if you ask the question "where does this connector plug-in?", the answer is that it's for the FX3 adjustable shocks. The people who have written this are very knowledgeable, and I agree with them because that's what my FX3 connectors look like - and they are in that position in the car for the front right shock. The front driver's side connector will be down in the area in front of the battery.

The rear shock wiring connectors are inside the frame rails above the upper shock mounts; you won't see them unless you pull them out of the hole in the frame above the shock.
