HEI Module
Looking for any advice on this, About 3 weeks ago my 85 started having a hard time starting and then i finally got it to run and it acted like normal again, ran it for 2 hours, dropped a friend off at his place and got down to his stop sign. As soon as i started slowing to a stop it died out on me, i threw it in neutral and she started right back up.
I flew back home put her in the garage for a few weeks due to weather conditions and ended up replacing the battery and oem battery lugs this week due to corrosion, got her running good went and put gas in it and it did the same thing got to the stop sign as soon as i slowed down it died. Started looking around saw that the HEI could be causing and issue and pulled it looked at it and not a single dab of thermal paste on it (picture above) honestly looking for any advice or help on if that could be causing the issue have had her for 4 years and haven’t ever changed the HEI out it looks to be aftermarket, she has 176,000 miles think it was around 120,000 when i bought her i have a a spare out of my brothers 89 but it is an original gm one that im going to use till i can get a new one in. Sorry for the long paragraph lol.

For anyone who has the same issues and finds this forum I replaced the HEI/ICM and the problem went away if you have the same issues it would probably be a good place to start. Always check your fuel pressure before anything, easiest thing to do before anything.
