'87 Alternator??
Hey Guys! Anyone have a link to the best '87 c4 alternator replacement (with minimal special work needed to install)? And link to belt to replace current one?
Previous threads are outdated/unclear.
{Ran into scary issue last week - car was running and I heard the engine/electric fluctuating intense --> weak. Then suddenly it went dead -- no light, no engine. Needed a boost to turn the car back on and get it home. Definitely an alternator issue, right?? It seemed to be holding above 13v though...}
ALSO - my A/C compressor is shot - do I need to repair this before putting in the alternator?

Rookie question here - is there also a notable difference between CS130 with 120amps (instead of 105) v. 144? And would the 144 fit in the car without too many annoying mods?

Hi,
I fitted mine in about 20 minutes, the only modification required is the upper mounting tab that you need to file down by about 3mm, every thing else is a straight fit, if you search the forum for cs130 to cs144 upgrade there is lots of information.
