Default Lexan Wrap

I have a extra Lexan roof from a 95 its all hazed and crazed but no cracks. Asked if it could be cut and bufffed lot's of can't do it so I was thinking of getting it wrapped. Using it on my Red 8K mile 93 chrome or cobalt blue.
Concerned about bubbling.

Any Thoughts or opinions.

Cars are vinyl wrapped all the time without a problem. I’ve done limited vinyl wrapping (small stuff, some kind of intricate). Learning curve for sure. Easy to do an OK-mediocre job and harder to do a good job. I would totally DIY this, cost wouldn’t be much. I’d buy some cheap stuff to practice wrapping, then a better quality wrap for the final attempt. Lots of YouTube tutorials.

So there really isn't any reason why it couldn't be cut and buffed. Guys do it all the time with modern headlights. But a shop is probably nervous about the top being they are expensive to replace if something happened. So if you want a nice clear top this is what I would do.

Get a low speed buffer and some rubbing compound and try it yourself. It's not a hard job. Just take your time and see if you like the results. It you can't get it right no matter what you do then look at your insurance policy. Most all collectors style insurance policies have glass replacement. The acrylic top on my 84 was cracked before I bought the car in 1998. I turned it into my insurance (Grundy) two years ago on their "no questions asked glass replacement". They paid to have the top sent into Melrose tops for a full rebuild including new weather stripping. It didn't cost me anything.

By "hazed and crazed" do you mean it has that webbing of tiny, partial cracks in the acrylic? If so, that's probably why people are turning down the request to cut and buff, because that wouldn't fix it. There is a re-lensing service that's offered if you wanted to make it like new again, but it isn't cheap. Wrap certainly would conceal it, and it sounds like that's all you're really going for, so I say go for it.
