I remember them, along with C5, and now C8 purple colors, the generations all looked good limited numbers.

According to the Corvette Black Book, there were 41,594 1996 Corvettes made. Of these 6359 were LT4 optioned and 320 were paint code 05. Doing the math would tell me a good estimate would be 49 of the LT4's were Dark Purple Metallic.

After Terry's site went away... here is the same info re-posted to the forum back in 2016.

There is also a book on Amazon - Robert Casey All 1990-1996 Corvette Colors, that is helpful.

The CCR links above do not document Z51 except for GS. The book I mentioned documents Z51 but not F45, but between those two sets of data, you can get it down to ext color/int color/engine/suspension. Some have used compnine.com to get this info, as well.

Purple is an awesome color - post pictures!

Are you asking out of curiosity or because you think it will increase value? I've never really seen color add much to the value of a car. The appeal with the '96 is the factory LT4, that's where you'll get more resale value from.
