According to the Corvette Black Book, there were 41,594 1996 Corvettes made. Of these 6359 were LT4 optioned and 320 were paint code 05. Doing the math would tell me a good estimate would be 49 of the LT4's were Dark Purple Metallic.
I remember this data first being posted at collectoreditionregistry.com back in ~2000-2001 timeframe, then Terry Mathews reposted it at the wright.edu link when the original compiler of the data (forum member "Rottie") no longer maintained the Collector Edition site.
After Terry's site went away... here is the same info re-posted to the forum back in 2016.
There is also a book on Amazon - Robert Casey All 1990-1996 Corvette Colors, that is helpful.
The CCR links above do not document Z51 except for GS. The book I mentioned documents Z51 but not F45, but between those two sets of data, you can get it down to ext color/int color/engine/suspension. Some have used compnine.com to get this info, as well.
I agree with 79, 62 coupes and 17 roadsters, pictured is a nice roadster I owned for 4 years, it was 1 of 10 with the black interior, was the LT1 not LT4, sold it when I finally found the polo green zr1 I was looking for, dark purple metallic is a terrific color.
Does anyone know how many Dark Purple LT4 Mettalics were made ? Thanks
Are you asking out of curiosity or because you think it will increase value? I've never really seen color add much to the value of a car. The appeal with the '96 is the factory LT4, that's where you'll get more resale value from.
