Paint or Mods?
My 94k paint job has the normal road chips all over the hood and blemishes around the body. When you stand back 10 feet they're not too noticable.
But under a parking lot light at night :U
So should I paint her or throw the mods at her?

Well a good paint job is what, $2-3k.. with that kind of green you could have a supercharger, etc. Personally I'd probably go with the mods but it's your choice, I wouldnt mind having new paint either :blueangel:
paint. you can get your money back out of that. mods will make it worth less in most cases. you can make the car so fast that people wont notice the banged up paint at speed but you will eventually have to stop. you could spend 2500 dollars on a super charger or something else to make it real fast but then you will have a real fast super charged banged up corvette. i personaly would spend the money on the appearance because more people will see your car than will race your car. you will spend more money on the paint then 2500 most likely.
I drive my vette almost everyday when it's sunny, so paint chips, the occasional autoX etc... are murder on the paint. I use color match wax. My hood paint is cracked over the wheel wells. once it peels up the hood a bit, i may paint it professionally. But if you drive the car, mods will give you more enjoyment. people cant see paint chips when you fly by them at mach 3
please DON"T paint it orange w/ black stripe!!!! that is EXACTLY what i am painting my 90 coupe like right now!!!!! flat black gs stripe.
get a bottle of touch up, fill the chips with paint {one stage to be easy} then wet sand to smooth it then buff out. if you match it right you no one will be able to tell.
if you were willing to spend $3000, now you will have $2980 left for the mods!!!!!! there is a way to have it all!!! i believe that if your car looks good you better have the power to back it up, or you look silly when a primered beast blows your doors off.

OK,
My two cents....
Do you have more fun driving it or looking at it?
I'm a bit old school I guess. Nothing worse than a great looking car with graphics that only LOOKS fast. But that's me. That's what's great about this hobby. You get "show" people and "go" people. And some that do both...
Go with the mods and have fun!

Paint, vettes have a lot of "go", i think its important to keep that show. I hate seeing ragged out C4's driving around. It's nice to see a well maintained one.

Doing mods on your car etc. keeps it well maintaned. Having a few chips and having a great looking car "from 10 Feet away" is not a ragged out vette.
I'm a go fast guy so I'm a little biased. Yeah, my car will be in the Vettefest in Chicago this March so it's not ragged either. But given a choice with a good looking car to begin with... go with the mods. again, opinions are like....
Well everyone has 'em.

Modifying can be more expensive than paint. If you paint it it will help on the resale value. If you modify it two things can happen. 1. You are never done modifying or repairing a modification. 2. You will never get your mony back.
The real answer is modify it to death, paint it last and keep it forever. :skep:

My paint is in sad shape, but I like to drive it and drive it hard. I went w/ the mods first. Maybe paint next year.
