'89 Console Light Assembly
Thanks in advance. After doing some reading, I discovered the switch for my console light is a mercury switch. My old one went bad and basically melted the assembly. I sourced a new/used one from eBay, but attached it to a 12V source but it didi not light up. Is there a particular orientation the assembly should be positioned at to make sure the unit works before I splice into my harness? I'm going to order a fresh bulb to be sure that's not the issue, but any help from someone who may have installed a replacement assembly is helpful.

If I remember the light can only be mounted one way, and yes its mercury goes off when closing. Did you make sure your connections is correct and there is power at the connector.
