Default Replacing window seal strip

The strip that runs along the INSIDE of the door window glass needs to be replaced on my 87. The rubber strip is attached to the top of the door panel.
I think I may need to replace the top part of the door panel (which the strip is attached to), because the door panel doesn't stay 'hooked' to the door frame after installing the door panel. I can't tell how the strip or the top part of the panel is attached and if I could easily remove it and how to attach a new one.
Anyone done this repair and care to help me avoid wasting time?

Unlike the outside strip the inside is held with staples. I've seen vids showing use of adhesives but I bit the bullet and just ordered new repro door panels from Top Flight. The inside window sweeps are already pre-installed. My old door panel had a lot of damage. The plastic channel that rests on top of those red metal tabs was broken and partly missing on each end and the channel that directs airflow to the side defrosters was completely missing. I was very happy with the quality of the new panel. Of course as soon as i finished up the first time i closed the door one of the plastic pins for the upper trim piece broke off. Sigh.

Hint: If you put it in your cart and wait a few days Top Flight will send you a discount code for an extra 10% off.

Edit: Mine is an '84 but I think 84-87 are all the same.

Broken plastic that is supposed to hold the top of the panel tight to the door which gets the inside sweeps snug against the glass.

More broken plastic. The new panel had a metal strip instead. It fit well.

I also had to replace the black door latch bezels as they were busted up too.

As far as the door panel being broken, there is a post here somewhere about where to drill and secure the panel with three screws and screw caps. Did that on our 94 and it worked fine.

Is that about re-attaching the top trim piece on the door panel?
