Hey, never been on the C4 section before! Kinda Cozy.

I bought a 1937 Ford Cabriolet which some one powered it with a 1995 LT1 mated to a 4L60. I have been having an issue with heat and idle (I think it's heat related)? Runs strong until after about 15 miles, then at a stop light it wants to act like it's running on 6 cylinders. When I step on the gas it revs up like its ready to go a 1/4 mile in 8 seconds. The the same thing at the next light.

I had O'Reilly's put their Innova 5300LaT OBD tester on it and it comes up with a MAT sensor fault? and a O2 sensor fault. New Bosch O2's are on order. So I went and bought a Innova scanner to test OBD1 but is doesn't want to connect. I looked in the Manual and it said for 1995 the tester only works for GM caprice with 4.3L and Trucks /SUVs. It isn't compatible with any other GM products? Which means that 1994 LT1 engines in various cars could be scanned for codes but in 1995 no GM cars can be scanned???

What do you guys use for OBD1 scanners here for your 1995 Vettes? I have checked later models of the Innova OBD1 & 2 scanners and all the manuals say the same thing.

BTW, the temp on the gauge really only gets to 190*-210* so it's probably not heat related?

I saw your post on another forum. Look into "scan9495" it's a free diagnostic program that will also data log. You need a laptop with windows 10, aldl obd1 cable and the scan9495 program. It's easy to use and works on my 1993 also.
