Default 1996 Door Adjar Switch

My door ajar switch needs replacing. It looks line I have to take off the door panel. Is that correct?

No it doesnt


buy some longer screws (i believe they are machine screws of some sort), remove 1 screw and put one of the longer screws in the hole/thru the backup plate to hold it while you remove the other one and twist its ferrule away.

then insert another one of the long screws as another ‘handle’ to hold the backing plate.

if you drop it (ex. Think you have the backing plate engaged but dont), then you will need to remove the panel to get it out

i then needed a small pair of pliers (hemostats work best) to pull the switches connector thru the hole.

Thank you. I will get some of the long machine screws. I have the hemostats.
