New LED Headlights
Well after years of trying to see where I was going at night I finally looked into upgrading my 85's dull lit headlights. I bought new OEM bulbs a few years ago thinking that would help, but not really.
After some research here I found the HWSTAR 180W H6054 were a choice that got good reviews and were a simple plugin to install.
What difference. Now the same lighting as a modern LED car. No more squinting to see down the road in thhe dark.
About $80 using a 10% off coupon on the

About $80 using a 10% off coupon on the AMAZON website and well worth it
Did you have to modify anything to get them to fit or did they slide right in?
In 2018 I bought a set of LED lights that were basically knock offs of a more expensive brand, been very satisfied with them overall.
I have been thinking about upgrading though, these ones have been reviewed pretty well https://a.co/d/iJHTCad
There's a set from Auxbram that look pretty nice too. A lot of the ones out there now are big on including DRL and turn signal elements, which is kinda useless with pop ups during the day, lol.
The Morimoto Sealed5 are supposedly the best option out there, but they're like $300.

Could you please post some pictures in the daylight with the headlights flipped up to view how they look and possibly a picture during dusk illuminated (looking at the headlight)!? I'll take your word on it that they are a major improvement for seeing...I'd like to know how they look to someone outside the car. Any excessive heat from the housings themselves or the wiring powering them? Thanks for the post, I'm ready for a change as well, even with brand new standard replacements...I would describe it as dismal...at best! Just want to know, do they look good, like they belong? Thanks again👍
edit: just looked closely at the link, and see some C4 pictures! Did you get black or silver? Also, do you happen to know what would be needed to make the turn signals functional in these?

Will definitely research this some over the winter. Unsure how difficult it is to do, since I am guessing none of these are plug-n-play.
They're plug & play, but you have to modify some wiring under the passenger dash for full functionality. As I recall, the fog lights ground through the headlights, and so you have to change that to get them working.
A search for just HWSTAR will supply several threads regarding them. I got 16 valid links for conversations.
Yup, I'm even in some of them. I've had the HW Star silver for almost two years now along with the D-Lumina canbus decoders to make the high beam indicator work correctly. The only issue i've had is a few days ago the left headlight quit working. A quick look and I found the decoder had come unplugged from the light. A quick zip tie and all is good again.

Sure did. Seems like another mod where some say it's plug-n-play while others say they had to modify something. I suppose each case is different depending on the products purchased. I have no intention of finding wires under the passenger dash and hacking away hoping I find the right ones.

D-Lumina CANBUS decoders (available on Amazon) make most LED headlight conversions plug and play. They will prevent the high-beam/foglight issues some had after swapping to LED headlights.
Been running them for 5 years. Literally night and day difference from stock lights. Didn't have to do anything but install them in my '84
Excellent cutoff, great throw, plug and play. Only thing I had to do was re aim the passenger light a little bit
Zero modifications needed for my '89. High beams work triggered and fog lights toggle on/off as needed. These upgrades are soo good for the money. Horizontal spread is fantastic.
I just installed a set on my ‘93 and the fog lights don’t always work. And now the high beam indicator illuminates regardless if the high beams are on or not.
I need to do some reading. Luckily for me it is parked for a while until I change the clutch again.
