Air filter, cut lid?
I see alot of guys posting with K/N and cut lid. Please explain. Is this a process of cutting factory air box or buying aftermaket? Post pictures if neccessary...thanks.

Take some tin snips or a dremel and cut a big hole in the stock air lid so that the whole filter surface is exposed.

Save yourself the time and energy and just buy an aftermarket one. I believe Eckler's sells one for like $50. If you do that, you can keep your original one intact.

I cut mine with no ill effects. I think there is a tech tip on this here in the forum. If I need another one, il'l buy another one, 50 bucks is 50 bucks.
