Now What ??
I really don't want to sell it but I'm concerned that that the fuel in the tank will soon deteriorate and won't
start again.
I bought it new so its been with me for 35 years and I still enjoy sitting in it on occasion.
What should I have done to preserve it or just say good by? As always, your thoughts and advise is appreciated.
1) Will your condition improve with time? (either through the natural healing process or via therapy) If so, and you want to keep the car, then do so. If not, go to question #2.
2) Do you have heirs who you would like to have the car or want it?
3) If your heirs would just benefit from the money, it would be easier for you to sell it since you know more about it than they do. Sell it and give the proceeds to your heirs or put it in a interest bearing account or one which bears returns to hedge against inflation until such time as you are ready to give it to them.
4) If you don't have heirs, consider close friends / family members who don't annoy you..
or a charityIt's been three years so likely the fuel is already bad. I would have a trusted friend or mechanic go through the car for you before doing anything.
Take care and be well! - Rusty
Take a lot of pictures, and I mean alot, and sell it.

I know a guy (who will remain unnamed) who has a collection of about 100 cars, mostly 60s gm muscle cars with a few mopars and fords. All get driven, but not by him. The poor guy is in a wheelchair and is unable to drive them, but he rides along and really enjoys sharing his cars with others

Having recently been discovered to have stage 4 kidney cancer and spreading to my lymph nodes, i've been debating on what I'm gonna do with my '90.
It's such a trivial thing to think about, but it is something I think about, given I've spent to much time restoring the thing. I've put a lot into it. But I don't know if I have it in me any more as the days get tougher.

Never underestimate the sentimental value associated with your favorite car when it’s a prized possession, labor of love, etc. Especially if you have memories with your family involving the car at all. If you think the thing is a Time Machine for you, that effect is often exponentially higher for your loved ones.
I had to swoop in and save my grandparents SL one day when some others thought it was simply a nuisance to rid themselves of. I couldn’t believe it - it was like they wanted to sell their dog. But now it’s a permanent testament to them, preserved for everyone to come.

Is it an automatic? There are conversion kits that will allow you to control the car with hand controls... like a gas pedal and brake pedal by hand. Something to consider.
