I don't know if it started at the same time as the C4 but at least some years of the C4 do have the ability to record in :30 second intervals all the parameters of cars current state;I.E. seat beats buckled, throttle position, RPM's, MPH's, yaw, brakes on or off ETC. Big brother (insurance) can use this info! :mad
IMO, the driver should have left that scene in a body bag. For doing something that stupid, I think that's the penalty he should have to pay.
That seems like a pretty stiff penalty for being stupid. Drinking and driving should be jail time and loss of license if someone was hurt, but a body bag, that’s pretty harsh.
That is, hands down, the worst Corvette carnage I have ever seen. If they were in fact intoxicated, and still chose to drive, they aren't very bright. I'm just glad they (as far as we know) didn't hurt anyone innocent....like a family coming home. Surviving this just withdrew every last cent they had in the luck bank.
Worst I have ever seen. Cop budy told me of wild chase in a stolen C4, vette was totaled at high speed, driver walked away with a minor cut on his knee, facing jail time.
Our cars are safe gang! We just need to be carful and not test 'em! :nono:
It's sad when things like that happen. Luckily, the two passengers are still alive today. I can never understand how some people can even imagine that they can get behind the wheel when they're completely hammered. I don't even gamble with that kind of stuff. If I'm feeling somewhat buzzed or if I can't even walk straight then I usually cut myself off the rest of the evening and wait till I sober up before I get behind the wheel. I've even taken a nap in my car when the restaurant closed for the evening.
