Picked up a '89 convertible over the weekend, passenger seat is nice, not so much the drivers seat. I see covers for sale, I imagine I could take it to be recovered or look for another seat... What are most doing in this case? I also need a new convertible top, could use some suggestions their also. Thanks in advance.
On my 89 vert I went with the Iggee seat covers for now and replaced the vinyl top with a used one from a 95 to get the cloth and glass rear window, I swapped the whole frame so it would function correctly with the glass.
The Iggee seat covers are not perfect, and probably not a good long term solution but for the price nothing fits as well. I have practically no complaints from mine.
Swap the cushions for now so you can enjoy a good seat. For replacement seat covers, I think most will recommend Al Knoch. I don't have a recommendation for convertible tops.
As the case with 90% of C4s, the passenger seats look like they were never sat in. While the driver seat looks a mess.....
It all depends on what you are willing to spend $$$$$$
Seat covers don't sell as just a single seat. You will be paying for both seats. You just won't find any of the Corvette vendors that sell just for one seat.
Al Knoch may sell you just a single seat cover, I'm not sure.......He would be the ONLY aftermarket seat cover I would buy, because they are that good. But with Al Knoch, you will be spending a lot of $$$$$$$$.
I had a hole in the side bolster on my 1991 ZR-1, I bought a leather repair kit and some OEM color match spray paint from Mid America Corvette. The paint is an exact match, I repaired the hole and I'm happy with results.......
Another option would be to look on Facebook market place, or on here in the C4 parts section, and Ebay for a 1989 seat.

I replaced the seat covers myself on a 86. Wasn't happy with the results. Replaced the convertible top on that car. Was a lot of work but it turned out better than the seats. Everyone recommends Al Knoch. You probably can find someone locally that will do decent job with the covers. Having a glass window is very nice if you want to go that route.
