I think guys are more impressed with nice cars than chicks anyways. Chicks only like a nice car because it usually shows you have some more cash to spend on them.

Yea, but don't tell my wife?....that's so funny!
After telling a long time/long distance high school best friend about my Vette purchase, he said 'Man, that's a chick magnet!'.
Heck, I bought it cause I always wanted one, and got a great deal.
Wanting one has been a life long dream....my wife had no idea either.
All I did was buy it, then tell her and my girls that I needed a ride to the airport in Greensboro to catch a flight to Miami.
They asked, 'why?'.
I said 'well, I've bought a car and have to go get it'.
They asked 'what is it, and 1959 or 1960 Thunderbird?'(I collect them, and own 5 right now)
heh heh heh, I said, 'No, it's a Corvette! - what I've always wanted, and bought!
And, like someone else said.....she/they don't care about the Vette -they don't care about my Tbirds either.....it's simple...whatever I want, I buy, and
they are happy that I am happy (I make sure they are all happy too).

No. I wanted a Corvette because it's a beautiful, high-performance, reliable American car with the reputation for being the baddest ride on the planet.

I bought this car because I've always been into Corvettes. I didn't buy it to get chicks. In fact if I were gay, I think I'd be in heaven, I find that this car attracts more guys than women.
As for meeting chicks who are into guys with money, I can meet them at a strip club.

Re: Didja Buy That First Vette to Meet Chicks? (corvetteronw)
I'd driven 2 seater sports jobs for a decade and a half, but my best friend always shook his head and wondered why I didn't just buy a good Chevy. I was out on Autotrader.com looking for a Mitsu 3000GT VR4 (I've always loved gadgets), when just for the hell of it I punched up Corvettes. I was amazed at how affordable C4s were. I was after the brute force power plant in an agile chassis. I found it. I soon discovered what it must be like to be a big chested chick in a tight low cut top. Everybody stares when I roll by, but that's not why I bought it. I bought it because it is what it is, THE American Sports Car! Every time I rail through a turn, every time I leave the line, every time I power around traffic on a mountain road, I am thankful that Chevy built me this Corvette!

After all these years I've found that women don't care what a guy drives....

Yea I always enjoy checking out the babes and giving a wave. Then all of a sudden I get a slap upside the head, the wife saying what the heck are you looking at. Oh thank goodness its only a dream.
Just kidding, I bought it for us to enjoy in our early age of 40.

My first Vette was a '62 in 1965 when I got out of the service. Geeze, it cost me almost $2000 and I didn't think I'd ever pay it off  I got it 'cause all the baddest rides in town were Vettes and I was tired of wrenching on my various '55 Chevys.
corvetteron, we're the same age, which was your first Vette?

Always loved vettes for what they were. Bought mine after my divorce. Shoulda seen the look on the ex's face when I pulled up to pick up my daughter!
I never bought the Corvette to impress anybody. Any woman that just likes the car isn't someone I'm interested in anyway.
The funniest story though is I had a blind date with this woman. She turned out to be a little bit bigger, shall we say, than my friend said she was. Well, actually a whole lot bigger. She was a very nice person, but did I mention she was a lot bigger than I was told? Anyway, I picked her up and she got in the car OK, but when we got to where we were going...well...she couldn't get out. She had a bad knee too and that didn't help either. I finally had to just about pick her up out of the car and we went in to eat.
While we were eating, I suddenly realized that I was going to have to go through this again when I dropped her off at home. That was a couple years ago and I think my back still hurts thinking about it.
Needless to say, I never did take her out again.

I believe that all women big and small should be treated with respect. You did a good thing in a.........well.......not so good situation. Good for you that you did the best you can to make her comfortable. I'm sure she had the same thoughts and might have been a little embarrassed. I guess these cars are not targeted for every person on the planet......but I'm sure she enjoyed the ride
