who can answer all the questions? 1. when was the origional zr-1 offered? 2. what years in c-4's was steel blue offered? 3. how many grand sports in 1996 (2 easy). 4. how many grand sports in 63? 5. how many zr-1 convertibles were made? how many still exist? lets see who knows all the answers. :D
The ZR-1 was an option in 1971 or 72, but as I recall it didn't have any emblems or badges. I think maybe only 2 or 3 were made and Zora Duntov had one of them. Just going on memory.
I am not a stat guy. I was at Gabe's the other night with Corey and I saw the Corvette bible as they called it. :D They started cursing me out for not having one.
I couldn't give a flyin' frog how many we're made etc. I like 'em and that is good 'nuff fo me! :auto:
Right you are JD, but what about the guy who is selling his '70 ZR1? Or how about every single 70-72 Vette for sale has an LT1? Just like those guys who clone Z28's. If you know how many exist, you can justify the price or if the guy is lying.

Original ZR1 was 1970, there were 25. 1971 had 8 and 1972 had 20.
There were I believe 5 GS's, and 1000 for '96
Convertible ZR1's are a little harder, I know of one still in existence, but don't remember how many total. mojo...i see you have a corvette black book 2! you are righ on all 3 questions!
out of those 20 built in 72 only 13 are accounted for. one of them was at the barrett jackson but did not sell. the high bid was $85,000.

Re: corvette quiz (stillthere)

2. 89-92?
3. 1000
4. 50?
5. 1
6. 1
There's just the one ZR-1 vert on display in Bowling Green right? I though that was the only one built. I had no idea about the RPO code being used way back when. I know they used LT-1 twice though.

you only got the 3rd question right. 1000 grand sports in 1996. 190 verts 810 coupes!the first zr-1 was offered in 1970.2nd question the answer is 1990-1991, thier were 5 grand sports in 1963, & finally 5 zr-1 verts were made & 1 is left in excellent condition & 1 other is around but beat(i was told)....so really 2 total remain.
1. The C4 ZR1 was offered in 1988 as a 1989 model.
2. Steel blue offered in 1989 on 1990 models, and 1990 as 1991 models.
3. There were 1,000 Grand Sports available to the public as a 1996 model.
4. There were five 1963 Grand Sports made.
5. There were no ZR1 convertibles produced by GM in any year that were available for the public to buy (there was one show car ZR1 'vert), however some owners have had their ZR1s converted into a convertible model. That said, it's virtually impossible to determine the exact number that exist currently.
EDIT: Spelling error, I swear! Answered all questions before reading on, too. :D
