Going through interior squeaks/rattles this winter and taking a look at the latch for the rear hatch. Whatever coating was on it is mangled. Any clever ideas on refurbing it? I could be mistaken, but it looks like someone may have wrapped it in electrical tape in the distant past. I’ve owned the car 17 years and can confirm, was not I.
Dunno if a few coats of plasti dip would work or not, but that's the first thing that comes to mind. Unless maybe you acquire a suitable diameter of some sort of hose and slice it down the middle and wrap it around.
