Default Track Spec Wheels

Folks, I just acquired an other nice C4 {95} and I wanted to know if my Track Spec wheels that I have on my C5 will work on the C4. Their specs are 18x11 +54 mm offset.

For an 11" wheel on a 88+ C4, 50mm offset is ideal. However, depending on the tire size you plan to run, you might get away with it. The concern will be whether you get any rubbing on the inside. If you mount 315/30/18 tires, then I think you'll get some rubbing. In that case, you'll want 5mm spacers to get a net 49mm offset. You may need longer wheel studs to safely use those spacers - I'm not sure. If you can get 6 full turns of the lug nut on the threads of your stock studs, then you'll be okay without longer studs. If you run 275/35/18 or 285/35/18 tires instead, you may get away without spacers. Only way to know is to try it. If it were me, I'd plan to use them and be prepared to buy 5mm spacers and 1/2" longer wheel studs if needed.

Roger that!! do have some spacers that I'll have to see what thickness they are. I think they should have hub centric lips, and since they are packed away I don;t remember. I was going to use 295/35-18s which are already mounted up. I am not overly worried about the rears, but the fronts might "scrub" a bit. Thanks for the input. I am also going to check with John Nguyen the spec corvette wizard.

The spacers don't really have to be hubcentric: it doesn't help anything, but it doesn't hurt anything either. They mainly just need to be flat and the correct thickness. 295/35/18 is fine on width, but they are a little taller at 26.1". That means you need to take extra care on the offset, since a little too far in or out may have them touching the fender edge or liner under lots of suspension compression. At 49-50mm I'm sure they will be fine. Just not sure about 54mm without the spacers.

The wheels will work. Nice wheels… They are on sale and the forged wheels are light, no provisions for center caps.

Looks very nice indeed. John Nguyen confirmed to me that they would work, and your photos shows how they look on the car. Great, thank you for the photo. Do you live in Az?

Yes - Northwest Phoenix (Deer Valley). John bought too many of these perhaps because under $1700 for a forged set of wheels is crazy, and they are tough designed to bang into curbs, they are stiff so not as much deformation when cornering, they are light, and they look great. I bought two sets.

That's a nice FRC... I've been on a lookout for a Spec Corvette project for down the road, but nothing that nice. BTW license plate frames in this state give the cops a free reason to pull you over, there's some law they passed about 10 years ago with regard to not being able to fully read the name of the state. Stop by sometime, I'm home every other week.
