Does anyone know if they make a test pipe, or a cat delete pipe that just bolts in for the LT1 cars?I know the l98 cars have options for that. Does the shop just have to custom fabricate to get the cats deleted?
I'm in the proc we of doing that now. If you can weld it'd be nothing to cut the old cats off and weld in pipe instead. That said, if you're doing all that, you should get long tube headers, which will delete the cats anyways.
I've never seen one. There was a guy on here who was going to make some, not sure where he ended up on those.
Unless your cats are rattling, you won't gain anything by deleting them. If they are rattling, get long tubes.
That's me. I don't have the jig done yet for the LT1 style test pipes. I would have but I spun the rod bearings in my 84 so I got behind on my fab work so I could get the new motor put together. The other problem is sourcing 2.75" pipe. Most suppliers stock 2.5 or 3.
So in short I'm still working on it. If I knew a way to make 3" pipe work I could have these done way faster. I might have to have one of you guys come by my shop when I'm ready and use your car as a test fit guinea pig.

you can shrink or expand an exhaust pipe end to the size needed to connect them together, the whole system doesnt have to be 2 & 3/4 in.

I realize that. Being that I'm trying to sell them to the public I wanted them to look as good as possible. So I was trying to find 2 3/4" pipe. But if I can't find a supplier that will sell it for a good price then I'll go with a more common size and make it work. Once I get caught up on all my other projects I would like to get this figured out. A lot of people have asked me for them.
