The location on the car is fine. I would spin the jack a quarter turn and cradle the pinch weld. As it sits now, it can easily slip off the jack.

Sweet maker save the day! No, that is a super bad placement, as 89dd said, a little bump might be too much.

Gander here for pics and a vid: https://www.corvetteforum.com/forums...jack-a-c4.html

My oil change method is a couple of ramps from HF and some pre-ramps I built.

I use the beefy frame areas just behind the front wheels and in front of the rear wheels, and jack up the whole side of the car by putting the jack just behind the mirror as a reference.

Aka "side jack", as shown in the thread I mentioned.

Didn’t see the link, figured it would just be easier to show.

The pictured jack stand is a pretty dumb way to do it. I say "dumb" as in, you could lose your life if you're under it and it slips off. There are pinch welds under the car where you can put the jack stands. Also for the rear, there is even a pocket where the jack stand can go into if you want to do it that way.

I can guarantee you that my car will not slip off those jack stands, I’ve used this way probably 100 times and have changed out clutches, engines, rear ends, etc using this method. It would take a lot of external force and imbalance for that car to even budge an inch, it’s safe and definitely not dumb.

For oil change, the HF ramps I mentioned. I built the preramps, but need to refine a little more, the air dam brushed the ramp going up. Work in progress. Ramps themselves are good, considering the plastic. Use them for other cars too. Plenty of room.
The "gah" of history, prior I used just the preramp, with that last 2x4 upright as the stopper. I mean, it worked, but was really damn tight and easy to get burnt!
