I have a nice 92 with auto-trans that is now parked because I can't find a speed sensor. Mine is a 10456091. rpo=d8k. Has anyone came up with a replacement for this yet? I'm stuck.

Yours used what tooth count gear and the color of the gear?
The gear is 36 tooth and beige or off white in .color
If you could find a center connect from a '90 or earlier GM# 25007338 or 25007224 that would work for you also. It would need to be white w/34 - 39 cast on it. You would need to change the connector at the VSS but otherwise it's identical. There are some eBay offerings that suggest they're selling a newer style perimeter connect like yours for something near 150$. I have never tried one of those on an A4 transmission but maybe others can advise. I believe that Natty C used one with his 3.07 rear but it's different. If you search eBay for 25007224 you should get results for what I just mentioned. Like I say I've never tried one on a C4 w A4 trans. Maybe others have.
*** If you do decide to try an eBay purchase, just be sure to pick the offering for 700R4. Then if it doesn't physically fit it's on him. It actually should look like your current one in the eBay offering but also includes a short harness.
As WVZR-1 said, the difference in early and late is only the electrical connector. When I converted my 86 auto to a 92 zf6 I found either speed sensor would work by changing the connector.
