Anybody safely removed the Option Info Label under the Console Lid? I'm installing a new Lid and I'd like to transfer the thing if I can. Thanks
Before you do any attempts take a few snapshots of it so that if you destroy it you'll be able to purchase a replacement. Without a snapshot most legitimate 'duplicators' will NOT duplicate it. I've never transferred one. Good Luck!!!
At the dealership we would use a heat gun (Hair Dryer) heat it up on one corner and slowly peeling heating as you go(be patient) in the end you should be able to get it off but it will want to curl.
So now comes the problem of resticking it, as mentioned they like to curl and not stick as well as before so a clear packing tape overlay may be needed, but you do what will work for your situation.
If you're replacing the lid, you don't care about the old one, do you?
Peel the foam and covering off the plastic base. Cut the plastic around the label with a saber saw. Clean up the edges with a file and sand paper and glue the piece to the new lid. Not a perfect solution, but it preserves the original label with no risk to destroying the original.
Heed WVZR's advice. Before you begin, take pics of the old one so it can be duplicated if needed.

I didn't know that these were reproduced. Hm. Thanks for the info.
Mine's not in the best of shape, and I'd really like to have a reprint done.
I may have a bookmark of a speciality vendor around from back when was looking for door jamb reproduction stickers. Which I never followed up on, actually. Not sure if I still have the bookmark, though, since I recently cleared a bunch of old bookmarks out.

Well heck. Something like that would have completely escaped my mind. And it's probably the simplest thing. lol. Weird...
That'd work great, assuming the label was in satisfactory condition.
There are sources that do this sort of things primarily for collision shops that get paid to replace required OE/Labels. Many months ago a user did very well with an eBay source that wasn't in the US. I recall it being quite nice but had some wrong label OE numbers but font and color was a match.
I've no experience with this outfit but I know a collision shop that uses them. If you've a relationship with a quality collision shop ask them who to use and what they pay. I imagine many collision shops have open accounts with some.
I've actually done a couple myself for a couple fellows that actually were quite nice. Mine with a clear acetate label cover over it satisfied them but wouldn't have passed the NCRS or others. I don't have the patience to do it anymore and the fonts, template of sorts is on an old W7 machine that hasn't booted for a few years.

Thank you! Yeah, it looks like I need to have some kind of collision shop account with them. I just asked them if they'll reproduce them "as is" ... so we'll see. I don't want it changed, just replaced. Thanks!!!
