96 Vette Red Roadster sat in garage since Christmas eve. Has not been started and now will not start even with a jump and won't accept a charge on a slow charger. Is this the norm? Has anyone else had this problem? A new battery was put on the car last fall. Will the battery go bad when it has been drained completely?
Sounds like something is draining your battery. Nothing else works (radio, accessories) until you add the jumper cables, right? Battery definately sounds drained to me.
Dead batteries:
It looks like it wont take a charge. The charge indicator wont show a charge.
A completly drainded battery won't register a charge right away.
Leave the charger on for low for 8hrs or more.
After an hour or two the meter on the charger will begin to show a charge.
Once a month put the battery on a slow charge.
Charge at 100% before driving the car.
A battery that is charged quite a bit will need a fluid check charging will evaporate the electroilte. Even in sealed battery.
