Antenna lube ?
Hi folks I was warming up the car last night in the garage and had the radio on antenna was up of course and I was wondering what I could use to lubricate it a bit , as it looks a bit dry and dirty...any ideas ? Thanks in advance ! :chevy

the book says no lube - just wipe the mast clean with mineral spirits.

Thanks guys , sorry for the ignorance but what is mineral spirits (water)?....I bought the car brand new back in the day , and it always seem like there was some oily based substance on the antenna . :yesnod: ...thanks again boys :thumbs:

I believe mineral spirits is used for cleaning paint brushes.

When up, I just use Mothers' Metal polish once in a while.

Do not use silicone spray regardless how well you wipe it off. Killed my Caprice power antenna that way. Not going near the Vette with it.
