Default Best Corvette Stance

So what exactly is the best stance for a Corvette? Lower the rear an inch or 1/5inches and leave the front as is or lower it an inch to? And what about Rims and tires? HOw big can you go and not look to horrible and a still have enough sidewall? 18's or 17's? Thanks for pics and Pics of Other Corvettes that have lowering kits and aftermarket rims or anythig that looks good :yesnod:

Just MHO but I think 11 in rims on the back with 315's look awesome. Leave the front alone. Lowering it 1 in all the way around looks way cool but Im not sure how much that would impact drivability. I mean stock height for mine is a pain to begin with....lowering it another inch? No way! You didnt mention ride mods but Ill toss that in as a related topic anyway. Mine has the base FE3 suspension and the ride is fantastic and it handles like its on rails. But Im still always tempted to *upgrade* the suspension for performance reasons but really should just replace the Bilsteins at some point and leave the rest the hell alone :blueangel:

I have a greenwood kit on my 87 coupe and just put AFS 17" ZR-1 reps on them. I like the look of the bigger rim with the lower profile of the sidewall. It makes it look a lot more aggressive. But as it was already stated, it's hard enough getting around with the current height so I would not lower it. The greenwood kit makes it look lower.

I am happy with mine. It sits ptretty much level, and 18" diameter wheels give me a look that I like. :D

This is always nice too, stock height, but parked on teh grass gives it that lowered look.

The best stance to me, and I'm an oldie (remmember the "dagoed" front ends)...anyway the front about 1" lower than the rear.....gives a very aggresive look....
Just my thoughts...
thanks

The grand sport ofset is what you want and yes they have 11" rears check my personal page for more pics. I have seen them lowered they look real cool I would do it if it were a coupe but not a Convertable. Darn X frame gets in the way on a Vert. My .02

Hey Oldace, I remember the "dagoed" front end all to well, although it works better on a duce coupe than a vette coupe. :steering:

why do you think they would be too big??

Wheel size isnt whats important as far a fitment..its the TIRE diameter.

You must not have noticed the 18" on mine?

Yeah they do look good, but you were talking about tire OD, will 26inchs be to big? I think my current tires are 25?

Lower 1" all around, and don't level it.

if you want to go to a larger wheel and keep the tire OD the same, you will have to go to a different sidewall dimension.
For example.. I went from a 40 to a 35 on the rear and from 45 to 40 on the front. This gave me approx the same OD as stock sizes.

play with this calculator a little to see what you need :D
