I do have the Cross brace under there since it is a convertible. I haven't received the system yet so I'll have to look around for a midas store in case I need them. I better start on a friday night so if I need soom "rounding of the passenger side cat insert I can find someplace open. Thanks for all your advise. I'll let you know how it goes! Someone else wanted to help if I pay for the flight! Sorry, I already hocked a credit card on new seat covers, exhaust, top, huh ect, ect, ect!!!

YES! tighten those clamps. i tighten them with as much power that i could. a week later i almost lost a muffler on a road trip. luckily it hung by only the hanger for the last 15 miles so i could get to a service station. i would have been super pissed if it fell off on the freeway. i had the guy at the service station tighten it down with an air wrench. it hasn't moved since :D

The CORSA instructions caution not to over tighten the clamps. I think this caution message tends to influence you toward under tightening the clamps. Don't be afraid to put as much torque as you can get once the final settings are in place!

Sounds like everyone has covered most of the things I encountered when installing my Corsa's. :yesnod:

The only thing I can think to add is spray some liquid wrench on the bolts the day before you plan to pull off the old system, so they'll come off easy.

Bingo. Buy some "PB Blaster" and hit all the bolts about 2-3 days before you do the job. Hit them again about 24 hours before. I did this and all of them came off without any galling or striping (car had ~90K miles at the time). I've had my Corsas for about 7K miles now and they definitely got louder with time. They sound about right now. Ditto on the person who discussed the inner tips discoloring. I have to polish them all the time to keep them looking like the outers.

I carry a shop rag to wipe the inner tips down after driving. I've actually noticed that the majority of the build up occurs when the engine is cold ... once warmed up I wipe the tips and don't get nearly as much for the remainder of the day as long as the engine is warm.

There was a GP for Corsas going on ... click on C4 GPs under Corvette Mall on the left. It may have ended in Feb. but maybe you can get it extended.

Tomarrow's the day! Sunny and 60 degrees is forecast. I am finally going to hear what the Corsa's really sound like. :steering:
