x-brace

Re: x-brace (scorpion)
there is a better solution.
the convertable x-brace robs you of ground clearance, to correct that, they added ride height to the rear suspension.
http://www.r-dracing.com/CROSS-FRAME.htm has a new brace that won't compromise the ground clearance.

I have one off a Vert. I still have 3 1/2" clearance and I lowered the car. Last year I never scraped with the car not lowered. (haven't driven it since i lowered it) I don't think it matter the year. I only paid $100 for mine and I think it helped a little for stifness.

If I could afford the R-D Racing one, I'd go for it. Definately recomend that one! It's stronger and better-looking than the OEM X brace, plus it doesn't rob you of ground clearance. :smash:

Copy/pasted from their website. - "The Cross-frame fits flush against the floorboards of your Corvette and only reduces your ground clearance by 1 inch. It is made of 1x3" rectangular tubing to withstand the abuse of daily driving and the hazards of the open road."

Looks like a nice piece but 500 bills!
BTW, I see you're from close to the area I grew up in. I lived around Springfield for 30 years...

Re: x-brace (91DRM)
ive been debating all my next mods.....and the rave reviews from nearlyt 100% of the folks on here all say to get the various braces....
So - I'll likely go with that this year instead of a hot cam. Of the three - which produces the most notable body-flex inhibiting difference?

Re: x-brace (RichS)
I"d do the Hot cam before doing a brace. But I'm allways looking to go faster :D
My 300 hp is getting me by for now. Maybe I can scrape the money later in the year for a hotcam. At least for now I sound good (Corsa's rock!)

Re: x-brace (scorpion)
You won't find a better person to deal with than Dave @ r-dracing, email him about a group purchace on the x-brace, he's VERY good about coming down on the price for a minumum amount of orders. Alot of forum members have purchased Crossbars and camber braces from him through group purchases. Good luck
