[Update] Stuck Starter
I was out working on the Vette last night putting in a new Optima battery with the yellow top and tried to start her up again. For 2 cycles the starter just kept going and going and going. The car never started the whole time though. It kept going for about a minute (seemed like forever though)!
This happened twice and I tried jiggling the ignition cylinder and eventually it just stopped on its own. I did notice one thing, however, the ignition cylinder (?), the thing that you put the key into and turn to start the engine is loose and sticks out about 3-4 mm further out than it used to. I noticed that when I tried to start the car afterwards, if I pushed the key all the way in and pushed the cylinder in more (closer to the steering column) the starter would cut out every single time I released the key from the start position. Once I kept doing this, the starter never kept going like it used to before.
Could this be the cause of my stuck starter? :confused:
