Default Should I mod??

Bone stock GS, plenty of power as is. But I have the itch to start mods, and I know once I do it would be hard to stop. Would you mod or keep it stock???

Boy that is a tough one. Think about it this way, in today's market what is a 1967 L-88 427 worth bone stock compared to a modded one. An unrestored one can grab $125,000 bone stock. A restored one would be half that.

How long are you gonna keep it?

If I was modding it, everything I did would be able to be returned to it's original OEM spec.

Either way it's your car do as you will. :hurray:

As of now, it’s a keeper, and I don’t think that will change. I looked for about three years for the right GS, so I know it will be around for quite awhile. :D

I think it says it all when you have your numered car in your sig #807 says it all.

You have a total collectible!

Hard choice, i just wouldnt do anything that couldnt be returned to stock form.

So a cam change is definitely OK.

Ummm...I don't think that air dam is stock, so I guess it already has at least one mod. As far as I know they are just black from the factory and not shaped that way like all the other Corvettes in '96.

I'd do bolt ons, but no major mods, then the car can be returned to stock easily. This is my approach.

You think that itch is bad, once you start modding it turns to a fever then it's impossible to stop :jester Go for it, just don't get crazy.

If you can work on it yourself, then mod it, if you can't ( like me ) then don't.......

The air dam came with the Vette and was the first thing to go. If you notice the tag is from MO. Those were pic's that were emailed to me before I picked it up. It now has a Florida tag and a stock air dam. :D

I have thought long and hard about it myself with my LT4 and I dont even have a GS. I guess it depends what your future plans are and how long you plan on keeping it. That car could be worth big bucks some day stock, but then again you only live once and do you want to wait that long... These were my thoughts... If I do mod it, it will be something like some of the others have said, like a bolt on or something that will not damage its present state and that can be easily changed back. I would definately keep any parts you take off if you do decide to Mod it. I myself seem to be having enough trouble just with the regular maintenance and keeping it nice, so Im not really worried about mods for awhile, but if you have the cash go for it.

My vote is for keeping it stock. After you reach a certain point of modifying your car, it never seems to run right again ...
