Hi. I'm a newbie and am not completely familiar with the ins and outs of this forum so if I'm asking a question that has already been then please redirect me, or forgive me :leaving:
Anyway, I noticed my '84 has digital dash. Is this a feature in all c4's? What are the good things/bad things about it?
The digital dash ran until 1990 when C4's recieved an interior redesign that included a mix of analog and digital instrumentation. The drawback to the all digital cluster is that it's not fast enough and it's very costly to repair if it breaks.
The new cluster looks like this
ZR-1's had an 8000 rpm tach and in 95 they switched to white lettering with a slightly different scale on some of the analog gauges.
The C5's which started in 97 returned to all analog instrumentation and a completely different interior because they truly are a completely different platform.
The C5 has a different cluster, it has Analog dash, but it has a small digital readout along the bottom of the dash board, this looks like a dot matrix LED
sign. The C4 used LCD, which is sometimes hard to see in bright light

Re: Digital dash? (Vampyre)
The C5 also has a cool digital HUD (Heads up display) that projects on the windsheilds, and even focuses to infinity so you're eyes dont have to readjust.
This is the early C4 "star wars" dash. Much more impressive in person IMO.
