That sure doesn't sound right at all.
Hopefully the cop was just adding some blah blah blah to his task.
And....on a side note....I've heard some nasty words/phrases booming outta
the rap crap ricers cruising around town.....very offensive to me and is not what I want my kids to hear.

Hey face it, you deserve a citation for playing RAP in a Corvette at any audiable level! :jester
But realy, it's a BS rap; I say that and I'm no "kid" anymore. Plead no contest so the judge hears your side or not guilty so the prosecuter must take it to trial depending on how strong your defence is. Since it wasn't a moving violation it won't effect insurance rates or such.
Before the court date do your homework:
-what was the location, ie commercial, residential, etc.
-what time of day/night
-what other vehicles/people were around you
-how loud was it, ie did he have a measuring device
-read the ordinance and what is required to determine loudness limit
-do you have a stock sound system or a deep base speaker
-what is your driving record
-did you take driver's ed in school
Then develope a logical line of defense, vent your anger and frustration before the court date, go into court with a calm attitude, show respect and be polite but firm in your convictions. Approach it as an exercise in learning how to deal with the "system" and try to be dispassionate and logical.
Finally, win or lose remember "life ain't fair", and this is just another of those little speed bumps in the road of life; enjoy your Vette.

The city that I work in has an anti-noise ordinance stating that any vehicle which has a radio playing that can be heard at a distance of thirty (30) feet is in violation. Very restrictive. It is not a moving violation.

ok sorry i wasnt on this post yesterday i was busy. so n e how here is the locatin it was at the BLOCK in orange (its like an outdoor mall type thing) it was around like 8:00 - 8:30 P.M. and yea umm thanx for your guy's opinons it means a lot and hey im 17 i like all kinds of music but i was playing RAP at that time ahha and hey my parents listen to that stuff too lol

DUDE!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!! FIGHT IT!!!!!!!!!!!!! THAT's the biggest load of S*** I've ever heard in my life. Seriously man. I heard about that gay azz music too loud law here in AZ that they passed about a couple years ago. I never heard anyone getting pulled over for it though. I'm always blasting Metal/Black Metal at about the 50 point setting when I'm cruisin and no cop has ever had the ballz to pull me over for that apparently. Wise choice on their part cuz I'd seriously get MEDIEVAL if they gave me a ticket for somethin that friggin stupid. And traffic school? For that? WHAT THE F***.......................????????????? ????????? That's some serious Bulls*** dude. If hearing wtf is goin on on the road during driving is so important alongside vision, then wtf do deaf people do...............walk to work? Deaf people can't drive cars? 1st of all... In Orange County their are cops that like to hassle people... You should already be aware of that... 2nd... don't play the rap crap loud where other people are going to hear it... It is annoying to most of us who grew up on music that had something to it... Only a few rap songs qualify as music IMHO... I know, I should not preach, free speech and all... however.... when I have the windows down and somebody pulls up along side with the rap stuff cranked up... I start looking for a way out... or roll my windows up untill the noise leaves... it is torture on my ear drums... and it is a real negative for other drivers and non-rappers just going thru life to have to listen to... I can't believe people get paid to write, produce, and talk that crap... but what the hell... to each his own...

OK, at the BLOCK here in Orange you definately shouldn't crank up a stereo there. Cops hang out around that place. I don't think you have a leg to stand on in court on this, but like mentioned above sometimes it just gets dropped for whatever crazy reason. So you can take your chances. Now about the cRAP issue, Turn it down. That is very annoying at stoplights.
