I have a C5 and had an S-2000. The S take considerably more skill to drive well. It is pretty unforgiving so there is no bluffing - you either control it or lose it. It does drive like a go cart which I found to be fun. It attracts a lot of attention and challenges because people actually think it performs like a Miata or M type BMW. Trust me - driven correctly it will tear them up. The question is - could you live with the WOT on a regular basis to get the full output? I couldn't so here I am in this forum. It was a blast to drive though!

I think you mean a Z3 not a M type BMW. I will take 315hp and 250 ft/torque over 240hp and 160ft/torque, 13.6 vs 14.1 1/4 mile, and .91g vs .90g skid pad number any day.

John - you are correct - I did mean the Z cars! BTW - doesn't the Z4 have some familiar styling attributes - coves, etc? ---the sincerest form of flattery. Nice looking but still not a Vette.

Re: C4 vs S2000 (Raysur)
[QUOTE]One is a Corvette and the other is a Honda. Our cars are ~10 years old and still have a name and respect on the street (and always will). /QUOTE]
:iagree:
Tell the wife this: the day she drives the Honda home from the dealer it will be worth only 60% of what you now owe on it. And every year it will be worth less.
The Corvette will be worth the same... the next day, and the next year, and the year after that......if you take loving care of it.
Financially the Corvette makes sense.
Emotionally, there is no question about which is the car of choice.
But, hey, you have to live with her.....

You might want to check your #'s, because this is just not the case. Honda's hold their values better than most cars, foreign or domestic. Certainly better than C4's and C5's. :leaving:
my personal opinion:
in a vette you can cruise on a "quiet" rpm level, and still have plenty of power to pass and accelerate. if you want to have real fun, push the right pedal all the way down.
the s2000 will get annoying after a while.
